According to the history books, Tra Co communal house is associated with the legend of "Tra Co people, Do Son ancestors". According to legend, in 1461, people working as fishing from Do Son (in Hai Phong today) often go to the whole family to earn a living in many remote areas, including the seaport region (in Tra Co, Mong Cai now). In one storm, twelve families drifted into a deserted peninsula with only parrots and reeds. Unable to bear the hard work, the six families returned to their old hometowns, the remaining six families were determined to cling to the ground and build a new countryside. Initially only six simple houses, gradually became a rich village. Like many other villages, Tra Co communal house was contributed and contributed by people to build. After that, the local people returned to their old homeland to ask for the flavor of the village tutelary gods to worship at the communal house (not Lo, Giac Hai, Nhan Minh, Huyen Quoc, Quang Trach). In addition, this is also the place of worship of 6 fairies with publicity, establishing ancient Tra land.

Since then, Tra Co Dinh Co has experienced many major restoration. In which the latest restoration was 2012. The current temple was built on a land of more than 1000 m2, spinning the south, the architecture of the nail style, including 05 compartments for 02 bowers and 03 harem, traditional wood architectural structure. The entire building is built by a wooden frame link and linked by the dream latches. The communal house is an ancient architecture, roofed roof tile, four curved corners like a boat turning waves to the sea. Especially the pictures of the rafters show the carved lines strong, sophisticated and vivid. The rich topic includes the touches of the dragon, the tiger, lurking on the branches of the leaves ... Each touch is a unique artwork. This is considered as one of the vast scale and unique architecture of the Northern Delta area.
