Pho Minh Tower is a special historical and architectural monument located in Pho Minh Pagoda, belonging to Tuc Mac village, Loc Vuong ward, Nam Dinh city. Built in 1305 under the Tran Dynasty, this tower is a vivid testament to the sophisticated art and construction techniques of the era. With a height of 14 floors and elaborate design, Pho Minh Tower is not only the largest, oldest and most preserved work in Vietnam but also associated with an important historical event such as the retention of the sore of Tran Nhan Tong. Pho Minh Tower is located near Trung Quang palace, where the Tran kings retreated after giving the throne to their descendants. This has given this place a quiet and serious space. Along with Hue Quang tower in Yen Tu and Binh Son tower in Vinh Phuc, Pho Minh tower is considered one of the three typical towers from the Tran dynasty to this day but more prominent in terms of scale and artistic value. Pho Minh Tower is one of the important historical buildings associated with the Tran dynasty. After King Tran Nhan Tong passed away at Ngoi Van, Yen Tu, his son, King Tran Anh Tong, brought 7 of the 21 kingdoms of the king placed in the palanquin, from which to set up Pho Minh tower to worship. The palanquin here is the base of the tower with green stone material, each side is 5.20m long. At the bottom of the tower, there is a lotus flower with large wings from the middle tilted to the corner of the symbolic tower of the palanquin. With the bottom of the stone pedestal, there will be a curved design design on both sides, this is the intention to build to create momentum for the upper floors to have such a curvature. If you look at the overall, you will see the image of Pho Minh tower like a lotus flower rising and blooming in the middle of the lake. From the palanquin, there will be all 13 floors built with red brick material, blooming 4 gates of East - West - South - North. Previously, the tower floors will have Moc Lo dragon motifs and decorative flowers, when the higher the height and width of the tower surface will be smaller. At the top of the tower there is a block with a shape of a lotus that has not been hatched by an old terracotta. But at the beginning of the twentieth century, during the remodeling process, people had put the outside of the tower with cement, so they lost the patterns on bricks. In 1987 during the repair of the tower discovered a stone surrounding a copper box on the 11th and 12th floors. Many people said that this is the relics box of the Buddha Tran Nhan Tong. Another interesting thing is that the image of Pho Minh tower appeared on a banknotic bill of 100 dong was released in 1991.
