Phat Tich Pagoda Peony Festival attracts tens of thousands of tourists The Phat Tich Pagoda Peony Festival takes place from the 3rd to the 5th of January, of which the 4th is the main festival day, one of the festivals taking place on a large scale and early in the province. On February 13, 2024 (January 4), tens of thousands of tourists from all over came to visit Phat Tich Pagoda, Tien Du district, Bac Ninh province and attend the Peony Festival. The Peony Flower Festival is one of the earliest, large-scale festivals in Bac Ninh province. The organization of the festival aims to arouse local people's pride in cultural heritage; Encourage and encourage people to emulate patriotism and complete economic and social development goals. The festival has existed and developed for thousands of years, associated with Phat Tich pagoda with a rich history and spiritual depth, the origin of Vietnamese Buddhism with the touching love story of Tu Thuc meeting a fairy. According to legend, in the past, the Phat Tich mountain area and Phat Tich pagoda garden grew many peonies. Every year, when Spring comes, peonies bloom bright red in a corner of the sky. People flock here to pay their respects, admire the flowers, and visit the pagoda. In heaven, the fairy Giang Huong saw the beautiful earthly scene and asked to come down to earth to attend the temple festival, but accidentally, she broke a peony branch in the middle of the temple door, so the monk kept her. Tu Thuc then asked to atone for her sins. Touched by the noble gesture of the gallant and elegant young man, Giang Huong asked him on a date and invited him to her "land" to get married. Phat Tich Pagoda is where monks from India first came to teach Buddhism in our country and then followed the Dau River to the Luy Lau area to establish the first Buddhist center in our country. During the Ly Dynasty, Phat Tich Pagoda was built into a great landscape. However, during the resistance war against the French, the pagoda was occupied and destroyed by the enemy, leaving only a few relics and antiques. After that, the pagoda was restored. This year, many tourists from everywhere have come to Phat Tich Pagoda to worship Buddha and pray for peace. Thousands of people present here, causing the entrances to the pagoda, bell tower, and Amitabha Buddha statue to be filled. The Buddha Tich Festival includes a ceremony and a festival. In particular, the ceremony includes offering incense at places of worship and belief, organizing a great compassion Dharma conference to pray for national peace and peace for the people and Buddhists on the evening of the 5th. The festival includes cultural and artistic performances, folk games at the festival center such as Quan Ho singing on boats, tom whore competition, steam volleyball... In 1962, Phat Tich Pagoda was ranked by the State as a national historical relic. In 2014, the pagoda was recognized as a Special National Monument. Currently, the pagoda still preserves two groups of national treasures including stone sacred animals and a stone statue of Amitabha Buddha.
