Ceremony to the Holy Master Blacksmith

Ceremony to worship the Master Blacksmith in Ha Tinh Time: 7/1 Lunar calendar The worshiping ceremony for Master Blacksmith in Ha Tinh takes place on the 7th day of the first lunar month every year, at Tien Son historical relic cluster, Trung Luong ward, Hong Linh town. Legend has it that the forging master of Trung Luong was Mr. Dung. He lived on Hong Linh mountain. Seeing that the people in the area did not have production tools, he had to dig the ground to get iron, uproot forest trees and burn them into charcoal to forge working tools to give to households. From then on, people in the area came to ask him to learn the trade. Mr. Dung was very happy to teach the craft to the villagers. Early apprentices founded Trung Luong forging village. Later, Trung Luong people built a temple at Ru Tien to remember his merits. During the resistance war against the French colonialists, Trung Luong blacksmith made tens of thousands of machetes, daggers, swords, more than 2,000 flintlock guns and dozens of tons of grenades to serve the soldiers and militia in the war. In order to restore this tangible and intangible culture, while preserving the tradition of "drinking water, remember its source", every year on the 7th day of the first lunar month, the people of Trung Luong ward organize a ceremony to worship the Blacksmith Saint to remind children and grandchildren to remember the gratitude of the person who passed on the craft to the village, and to know how to preserve and develop the blacksmithing profession to glorify the village. On the opening day of the festival, children of Trung Luong ward, no matter where they are working or living, will return to their hometown to remember the Great Blacksmith.
