Dai Lan village festival Dai Lan village communal house, Duyen Ha commune, Thanh Tri district worships the three gods Linh Ho, Minh Chieu and Cha Muc, famous generals of the Hung King period. According to legend, the father of the three gods, surnamed Truong, named Long, lived in Luu Xa village, Thuong Hien district, Nghia Hung prefecture. Her grandparents worked as fishermen. Because they were late for children, they went to pray at Sai Son pagoda. When they returned, she was pregnant and gave birth to a son, Linh Ho. According to legend, Linh Ho is the eldest child, while Minh Chieu and Cha Muc are the second children. When they grew up, all three of them were smarter and healthier than others. During the reign of King Hung XVII, there were Tay Thuc people who were planning to invade Phong Chau. King Hung issued an edict to find talented generals, all three of them applied. Linh Ho was appointed by the king as Tien Minister; Minh Chieu is the minister of the Left; Cha Muc is the Right Minister and Minister. When Linh Ho led his army to the Lo River, he was surrounded by the Shu army. The army lacked food and had been sick for five days. Linh Ho raised his face to the sky and cried: If the country of Nam is still alive, heaven and earth, the gods of the country of Nam, please help the army win the battle; If the South country has to merge with the North country, then we will definitely live together. In just a moment, I suddenly saw a mother and her baby crawling straight down from the mountain. Fees for officials to milk cows for the troops to drink. Suddenly, the soldier's spirit was heroic. Then reinforcements arrived, and both sides fought fiercely. The Shu army broke down and fled in disarray. The country of Van Lang is at peace, singing triumphs and celebrating rewards. Remembering the Cow God's help in the battle, the villagers did not eat the beef when they saw it. And the three generals just mentioned, when they passed away in old age, the king conferred deities on them for the people of the hamlets to worship and recorded them in the dictionary of offerings. Because the village is located along the river, there are always landslides. Sometimes the village is on the North bank of Van Giang district, Thuan An district, Kinh Bac region; Sometimes it is on the southern bank of Thanh Tri district, Son Nam town. Whether on the South bank or the North bank, when there is a village, there is a communal house. When life is so moored, it is suspended and built with bamboo paintings. In the years 1873-1874, robbers plotted to burn down the communal house to rob the village. The wise men divided the number of people to both guard the village and the communal house. In 1915, after moving to the South bank, the villagers' lives were quite stable, the village built communal houses, pagodas and temples to worship 18 successful people of the village. But these religious structures only existed for more than 40 years. In 1958, the village's land collapsed again, and the communal house and pagoda had to move deeper into Nghe village. Dai Lan Communal House still retains many precious relics and many dynasties' titles, including the 9-Dynasty Le Dynasty decree; Tay Son period 3 religions; Nguyen dynasty 6 religions. To commemorate the heroes who contributed to the country, Dai Lan village festival is held every year on the 6th, 7th and 8th of January. All preparations for the main festival day were held half a month before. On the afternoon of December 23, there is a water procession on the Red River. At midnight on the 23rd, after arranging the altar offerings, the celebrant conducted the exchange of horses. On the morning of the 4th day of Tet, these codes are transformed. On the morning of the 6th, before entering the first day of the festival, the three new altars confer real hats and clothes. Then there is the procession of the god. During the year, there are sacrifices on the god's birthday and transformation day, but only on the afternoon of the 6th day is there a literary procession. At the appointed time, the village brought a palanquin, flags and fans, and a dignitary wearing a hat and green robe to the writer's house to receive the text. The writer wears a robe and walks behind the royal court. Also on the afternoon of the 6th, there is a procession of catfish, a type of fish that can only be found in wide rivers with big waves like the Dai Lan River. Legend has it that when the mother of the gods was pregnant, she liked to eat this type of fish and fish salad. After the sacrifices are completed, every year the village organizes wrestling, stick fighting, and whip dancing to remind of the village's martial arts tradition. During the festival, martial arts wrestling teams from the villages of Trung Quan, Chu Xa (Gia Lam district), Khuyen Luong, Yen My, Van Phuc (Thanh Tri district) also came here to compete. Dai Lan's wrestling team sometimes had up to 50 people, and was famous for its uppercut and radial moves. Dai Lan village festival with its own rituals and nuances vividly reflects the beauty of a riverside village specializing in farming and fishing. Currently in the village, there are Mr. Ve, Mr. Ba Co, Mr. Uyen, Mr. Xiem, and Mr. Nghe who are famous martial artists, greatly admired by the villagers.
