Huynh Cung village festival Time: January 18 to 21 of the lunar calendar Location:  Huynh Cung Communal House, Tam Hiep Commune, Thanh Tri District, Hanoi City Objects of worship: Uy Mang and Hong Bac, (two children of the 17th Hung King) and the holy sage Chu Van An. Characteristics: Ceremonies, palanquin processions, lion dances and games such as cockfighting, chess, football and singing... Huynh Cung communal house is located in the center of the village, worshiping King Hong Bac and King Uy Mang, two children of King Hung of the 17th generation. According to the divine genealogy, both of them were skilled in martial arts, had better health than others, and had contributed to helping the country, so they were deified by the King and became Tutelary Gods of the village. In the communal house, Chu Van An is also worshiped, who has made great contributions to the villagers of Huynh Cung. The village festival is held every year for 4 days to honor the village's Tutelary God and the Holy Sage Chu Van An. The festival program usually takes place as follows: January 18: In the morning, a team of people selected by the village go to the temple to clean (clean) the statues and offerings in the communal house. In the early afternoon, a team of elders gathered in front of the communal house's courtyard in traditional ceremonial clothes to perform the sacrifice to the sound of loud drums. January 19: Organizations, clans, families, and people throughout the region celebrate holy mass. In the afternoon and evening, traditional music performances are performed at the communal house yard. January 20: As the main festival day, the festival drums beat loudly from early morning with the performance of praising excellent students at district and city levels, families with high-achieving members who help the country and villages. Next is the palanquin procession, the ceremony at Uncle Ho's memorial monument, the village pagoda to worship and offer incense to Saint Chu Van An. The palanquin procession from the communal house to the pagoda was organized magnificently with the large participation of villagers. Starting with the lion dance troupe of martial arts students in the village, followed by the procession of Uncle Ho's image by the children, followed by the team carrying offerings from the families and people in the village, followed by the worship team, and finally the palanquin carrying team led by young men and women of the village. Afternoon of cultural, artistic and football exchanges between villages at the commune's stadium. January 21: Last day of the festival. From early morning, the elders prepared to hold thanksgiving ceremonies at the village communal house and have a picnic. Huynh Cung village festival is organized quite large, taking place jubilantly, in a solemn and respectful atmosphere of villagers and people in surrounding areas participating in the festival.
