Phu Gia communal house festival

Phu Gia Communal House worships the village's Tutelary God Tran Khai Nguyen, a general of the 6th Hung King's reign who had meritorious service in fighting the enemy and defending the country. Legend has it that he also had the merit of curing the flood, bringing peace and happiness to the people and was bestowed by the king with 12 religious orders and appointed the Village's Tutelary God with 12 words "Save the country, save the people, support the yin, support the yang, and make the people peaceful". Every year on the 10th day of the first lunar month, the villagers organize a festival to commemorate His grace. Phu Gia communal house festival is held for four days, from 8 to 11 of the first lunar month every year, attracting many people in the region and tourists from all over to attend. The festival program takes place as follows: January 8: From early morning, the elderly men in the ritual team perform the Bao Sai, Moc Duc statue and worshiping objects. In the afternoon, there is a ceremony to open the communal house and give out costumes to prepare for the next day's holidays. January 9: From 7:00 a.m., the offering ceremony was performed with the participation of old men and women in traditional festival costumes, along with people in the area and tourists from everywhere. The water procession ceremony from the communal house to the wharf was conducted immediately afterward. The procession includes: dragon dance team; drum and gong playing team; team holding weapons: sword, eight treasures, halberd; team carrying jars (dogs) to carry water; 2 ceremonial music teams: bowl sound, dong van (drum); The Imperial Guard will take turns getting into the boat, then slowly row out to the middle of the Red River to get water. The water collected is used to celebrate Bao Sai and Moc Duc ceremonies for other holidays of the year. After the water procession ceremony ends, the monks in the temple will chant sutras. In the afternoon, the Naturalization Ceremony (Tuc Liet ceremony) performed by male priests is conducted.  After that, the clans and families in the village offer offerings to the Saint. January 10: (Main festival day) In the morning, groups and people come in to offer incense and holy offerings. Next, the village's men's worship team entered the Naturalization Ceremony. In the afternoon, the ceremony continued with an incense offering ceremony by the village's female sacrifice team. After that, people and guests from everywhere attend the Holy Mass. Finally, the general night sacrifice performed by the men's sacrifice team is conducted in the late afternoon. January 11: From 8:00 a.m., villagers and worship teams gathered at the communal house's yard to witness the end of the festival ceremony, ending the Phu Gia communal house festival.
