Ba Thien Hau Pagoda Festival

Ba Thien Hau Pagoda Festival Ba Pagoda is currently located at 04 Nguyen Du Street, Thu Dau Mot City and in Phu Chanh Ward, TX. Tan Uyen (Binh Duong new city area). The pagoda was founded by four groups of Chinese people to worship the goddess named Thien Hau Thanh Mau. Although there are not as many festivals as other places, Binh Duong has a very unique festival culture such as Ong Bon pagoda festival, Ky Yen festival at temples, traditional boat racing festival... but the most typical one is the annual Ba Pagoda festival on the full moon day of the first lunar month at Ba Thien Hau temple "Thien Hau Cung" which people often call Ba Pagoda, an important folk belief base of Chinese-Vietnamese people in Thu Dau Mot, Binh Duong. Ba Pagoda is currently located at 04 Nguyen Du Street, Thu Dau Mot City and in Phu Chanh Ward, TX. Tan Uyen (Binh Duong new city area). The pagoda was founded by four groups of Chinese people to worship the goddess named Thien Hau Thanh Mau. Every year, Ba Thien Hau Pagoda organizes the Ba Thien Hau procession festival on the full moon day of the first lunar month. This is considered the largest festival in Binh Duong, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors in the province and from neighboring provinces to make pilgrimages.  The worshiping ceremony for her is held at midnight from January 14 to the morning of January 15. Most of the pilgrims are Chinese-Vietnamese people from various places. The pagoda is decorated with flags and lanterns from the three-entrance gate to the shrine. Twelve large, beautifully decorated lanterns symbolizing the 12 months of the year hang in a long row in front of the temple yard, creating a more splendid festival scene. On the 15th, the Ba palanquin procession is held in the traditional way: the Ba palanquin procession is carried around the center of Thu Dau Mot city with a lion dance team, people perform worshiping ceremonies, blessing ceremonies, and pray for good fortune for the new year at the pagoda and in front of their houses where the Ba pal palanquin procession passes.
