From the end of August to the end of September, Hue enters the festival season with a series of activities under the Fall Festival - Hue Festival 2026. A notable point is that the programs not only focus on the relics but also expand to the Perfume River, streets and community spaces, creating a colorful picture of Autumn.
Opening the series of activities is the Hue Nam Electric Festival taking place from August 20 - 22. This is one of Hue's unique cultural and religious activities, contributing to bringing traditional cultural values closer to people and tourists.
From August 30 to September 1, Hue continues to organize Hue Wonderverse Fest 2026. In particular, on the evening of August 30, an art program to celebrate the National Day of September 2 will take place at Hai Ba Trung walking street, creating another nightlife destination for tourists during the holiday.
On August 19 and September 2, 2026, Vietnamese citizens will also receive free tickets to visit historical and cultural relics of the Hue Monuments Complex. This is not only an opportunity for people to access heritage but also creates conditions for tourists to combine visiting the Citadel, mausoleums and royal architectural works with experiencing the Fall activities taking place in the city.
Entering September, the festive atmosphere continues to be extended with the 37th Hue City Traditional Boat Race taking place on September 2 on the Perfume River. Races on Hue's iconic river bring a different perspective on the community cultural life of the ancient capital.
From September 18 - 20, Hue Lion Festival 2026 will continue to create a highlight, before the Opening Ceremony of the City Sports Festival takes place on September 20. On September 21, the Lion - Lion - Dragon advertising program and the Mid-Autumn Festival lantern procession continue to expand the festival space, aiming at experiences for the community and tourists.
Not stopping at street activities, September in Hue also has many art programs associated with the cultural depth of the Ancient Capital. Among them, "Tuong Hue - Thousands of Ancient Echoes" takes place on September 22, Full Moon Night of the Imperial Palace on September 25 and the art program "Sending the Wind to Let the Clouds Fly" by Nguyen Dinh Tuan Dung on September 26 at the Hue Citadel.
Truyen Lo Festival, Honor Student Honors Festival and "My Dear Colors" Fine Arts Festival are also held in September, adding new colors to the series of Fall activities.
With organizations ranging from heritage and traditional culture to contemporary art, street festivals and sports, Hue is aiming to create more reasons for visitors to stay longer instead of just visiting relics and then leaving.
According to the leaders of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, the series of activities of the Fall Festival - Hue Festival 2026 is expected to bring people and tourists unique cultural, artistic and heritage experiences.
Refreshing products and enhancing Fall activities take place in the context that the number of visitors to Hue is growing quite positively. In July 2026, the city welcomed nearly 799,000 visitors, an increase of 12.7% over the same period. Tourism revenue reached nearly 1,899 billion VND, an increase of more than 52%.
In the cumulative 7 months, Hue welcomed about 5.1 million visitors, an increase of 26.9%. Of which, international visitors reached about 1.6 million. Seven-month tourism revenue is estimated at more than 12,088 billion VND, 1.6 times higher than the same period last year.
