Silla Temple Festival

Silla Temple Festival Silla Temple is located on a large area of land with lush ancient trees in Doan Thuong village, Bao Khe commune. Here, the trees are dense, most of which are hundreds of years old, like a small forest in the middle of the Northern Delta. Bat Nan Temple worships General Vu Thi Thuc, an outstanding general in the Hai Ba Trung uprising against the Eastern Han army invading our country during the Northern domination period.  General Bat Nan's name is Vu Thi Thuc, his father is Mr. Vu Cong Chat, Hao is the head of Phuong Lau site; His mother is Mrs. Hoang Thi Mau from Bach Hac district. The family has a profession of making medicine, often going to the mountains and forests to pick medicine and save people. Vu Thi Thuc is a famous and beautiful girl with the best martial arts in the region. When Thuc Nuong was 18 years old, the Governor of Giao Chi at that time, To Dinh, heard of Thuc Nuong's talent and talent, and forced Mr. Vu Cong Chat to marry Thuc Nuong to him, but Thuc Nuong's parents refused because they had accepted betel and areca in exchange from the parents of Pham Danh Huong, a wealthy farmer in Liep Trang. To Dinh tried to kill Vu Cong Chat and Pham Danh Huong, then sent troops to hunt down Thuc Nuong. Protected by the people, Thuc Nuong escaped to the Red River with some relatives and boarded a boat to sail to the Silla region of Son Nam religion. Here, Thuc Nuong recruited soldiers, trained water and land troops, and stored food and grass. Knowing that she had set up a base in Silla, To Dinh sent troops to attack many times but failed, not daring to go to the base.   In the spring of 40 of the 20th century, the Trung Sisters were preparing for an uprising in Me Linh and sent messengers to persuade Thuc Nuong to bring a protective army to join the uprising army led by the Two Ladies. Thuc Nuong was awarded the title of General, leader of the strikers, and accomplished many victories, so she was awarded the title of General Dong Nhung. After defeating the To Dinh invaders, Trung Trac proclaimed himself king with his capital in Me Linh and appointed Vu Thi Thuc as Princess Bat Nan, General Trinh Thuc. When Ma Vien sent troops to invade, Thuc Nuong fought side by side with Hai Ba Trung in Lang Bac and Cam Khe. When Hai Ba Trung committed suicide, Vu Thi Thuc withdrew her army to the Silla region, where she fought tenaciously,... General Bat Nan died on March 16, the year of Quy Mao (43). To remember her merits, the people of Silla region built a temple to worship her.   This place was also the gathering base for soldiers who trained day and night in the Can Vuong Movement, becoming a solid revolutionary base and hiding underground cadres. Silla Temple is considered a hidden mailbox, where the enemy's attack on Road 39A was directed, destroying the Doc Suoi post.   In the past, the Silla Temple festival usually lasted from the beginning of the month to the end of the third lunar month. During the festival, there is a water procession from the Red River to the temple, and there are also folk games such as Chinese chess, tug of war, cockfighting, cultural performances... attracting a large number of people to participate. Nowadays, the festival is organized more simply, the duration is shorter, the festival is held on the 15th, 16th, 17th days of the third lunar month, but still ensures the content and process of the traditional festival.   Silla Temple was ranked as a National "Historical and Artistic" relic by the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism, which issued Decision No. 154-QD dated January 25, 1991.
