Dai Cai temple festival

Dai Cai Temple is a place located in the complex of cultural and historical relics - Black Y Tower Pagoda - Dai Cai in Tan Linh commune, which has been recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) as a national historical relic since 2001. According to historical books and folklore, Dai Cai temple worships Lord Luong Vu Thi Ngoc Anh, a descendant of a family of generals, skilled in literature and martial arts, and knowledgeable about farming.  Dai Cai Temple Festival is held to commemorate the merits of ancestors who publicly painted and destroyed rocks, recruited people, established villages and opened markets, built ramparts, and kept the land peaceful from the Ly - Tran dynasties.  The festival is organized in two parts: the ceremony part and the festival part. The ceremony takes place with traditional rituals such as: chanting sutras, reciting Buddha's name, worshiping Heaven and Earth; Offering incense at the Tan Linh Commune Memorial, offering incense at the ancient citadel of Ben Lan and the Incense Offering Ceremony at Dai Cai Temple were held with a full complement of ceremony masters, deputy ceremony masters, worship teams, district leaders, commune leaders and a large number of people and tourists from all over.  The festival has many cultural, artistic, and sports activities imbued with the traditional national identity of the people of Luc Yen ethnic groups such as: shuttlecock throwing, crossbow shooting, stick pushing, blindfolded duck catching, tug of war, spinning, sack jumping, men's leather volleyball competition, fishing competition on the Chay River, and Black Shirt King mountain climbing competition. Along with that, there is an exchange of folk games: playing volleyball, spreading bamboo sticks, playing cubs, jumping rope, bird's nest fighting, eating mandarin umbrellas and entertainment nights, lighting campfires. Dai Cai Temple Festival takes place on January 15 and 16 every year to honor the cultural identity of ethnic groups in Tan Linh commune; Raising awareness of preserving local tangible and intangible cultural heritage, the spirit of national solidarity, arousing pride and love for the homeland and country of ethnic communities in the area. At the same time, propagate and advertise to visitors from all over the potential, strengths, and attractive destinations in the travel itinerary. Thereby, attracting investment in the field of spiritual cultural tourism; Ecological and community tourism; renovate and upgrade historical and cultural relics in Tan Linh commune in particular and Luc Yen district in general.
