Phuc Khanh Temple Festival Phuc Khanh Temple Festival is held annually on January 10 every year to commemorate the merits of the Bau Lords who contributed to preserving and protecting the country and building the lands of Pho Rang and Bao Yen under the Le Dynasty; Pray for a year of good weather and good harvests. Phuc Khanh Temple today is located in the Nghi Lang ancient citadel, built in the 16th century. The temple and ancient citadel are both associated with two historical figures Vu Van Uyen, Vu Van Mat and the Vu family. The festival is held annually to contribute to educating the people, especially the young generation, about the nation's history, thereby enhancing patriotism and national pride, striving to build and protect the homeland, making the country increasingly rich and beautiful; renovate and protect historical and cultural relics in the area. Phuc Khanh Temple has been recognized as a National Historical Site. Along with Pho Rang Fort Victory Monument, Bao Ha temple, Co Tan An temple, Phuc Khanh temple are among the chain of historical and spiritual relics, attracting tourists to Lao Cai. After the ceremony, people and tourists participate in the festival with folk games such as playing Chinese chess, tug of war, pushing sticks, popping water balloons... creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere at the beginning of the new Spring.
