Doc village communal house festival - A colorful festival of the ancient Tay people During the 4th and 5th days of the first lunar month, Viet Hong commune, Tran Yen district organizes the Lang Duc Communal House Festival. This is a folk festival imbued with the nuances of the ancient Kinh and Tay people, an opportunity to pray for green rice seedlings, a peaceful life, and a prosperous and happy home. The ancient name of Verc Village is Ban Guoc or Ban Loc, which in Tay means jungle village. Duc village communal house was built in the early 19th century (during the reign of King Khai Dinh of the Nguyen Dynasty and was ordained by the king).  Duc village communal house, in addition to worshiping the gods and the village's Tutelary God, also worships the ancestors of the Pham family and six other families that openly established this land in the 18th century. Therefore, the Verc village communal house festival not only carries bold spiritual colors but also carries cultural and historical values, arousing the spirit of solidarity and tightening village bonds. The festival is also an opportunity to commemorate the ancestors who publicly opened this land. The Duc village communal house festival is held regularly twice a year. The Duc village communal house festival was first held in the first lunar month, falling on the third and fourth days, called Ha Dien Festival. The second period of the Verc Village Communal House Festival will be held on the 13th and 14th of the seventh lunar month every year, also known as the Than Nong Bridge Festival.  The ceremony is held sacredly, solemnly and economically, a harmonious combination of traditional rituals of the Kinh people along with the typical xoe then dances of the Tay ethnic people. During the ceremony to worship the Tutelary God, the ancestors and predecessors who had reclaimed this land, people offered thanks to the gods and prayed for a lush, prosperous harvest and a prosperous and fulfilling life throughout the year. Through many ups and downs of history, the Verc Village Communal House Festival has entered the subconscious of every person, demonstrating the strong vitality of a festival imbued with unique traditional cultural values ​​and the spirituality of ethnic minorities in Tran Yen district. This is also an opportunity to strengthen solidarity between the Kinh, Thai, and Tay ethnic groups, strengthen neighborly relationships, and commemorate the ancestors who publicly opened this land.  The festival contributes to educating the spirit of patriotism and pride in the traditions of the revolutionary homeland for the young generation and is also an opportunity for the locality to promote and introduce the land of Viet Hong located in the Van War Zone national historical relic complex, containing cultural - historical values ​​and the diversity and richness of the natural landscape to tourists from near and far.
