Xang Khan Festival of Thai people Every 3 or 5 years, around the 11th month of the lunar calendar, when all the corn in the fields has been carried home, the rice in the fields has been carried back to the village, or February or March of the following year's lunar calendar is a good month, in many Thai villages, the Xang Khan festival is held to celebrate the new spring and hope for good health. The festival opening time is from 2 to 3 days. According to elders in Thai ethnic villages in Quy Hop, Quy Chau, and Que Phong districts, the Xan Khan festival has existed since ancient times. At that time, "the ground was like a banyan leaf, the sky was like a snail's lid, the mountains and forests were like chicken footprints", San Khan was organized by the shamans. Because each monk learns from a different teacher; Each village and each region has different economic and living conditions, so the way to organize the Xan Khan festival in each place is also different. However, the basic parts of the Xan Khan festival are agreed upon by the shamans in the following order: On the occasion of the beginning of the new spring, the master shaman opens a jar of wine and asks the ancestors for permission to choose an auspicious day and month to organize the Xang khan festival. After choosing a day, the owner asked his family members to bring betel, areca nuts, and wine to invite his friends to attend the ceremony. The number of people you invite is limited to 8 to 24 people (including grandparents). If your friend accepts, send the owner a fan and a scarf as a message. In addition to inviting friends, the owner also invites a group of healthy young men and women with good moral qualities to help the monk prepare offerings. 3 days before the festival, a group of young men and women gather at the owner's house. Whoever comes first will be chosen to be the person in charge: they will be able to follow the master shaman to find flowering plants, betel, and invite wine from fellow shamans.  Xang Khan Festival is a unique folk belief festival of the Thai people, contributing to satisfying the need to enjoy culture, especially spiritual culture, of ethnic minorities in general and Thai people in particular. However, in recent years, many Thai villages no longer have the Xang Khan festival. There are many reasons, but the most important is still the people and their behavior towards the festival.
