Thac Bo Temple Festival Thac Bo Temple Festival takes place from January 2 and lasts until the end of the third lunar month. Every day, this place welcomes thousands of tourists from all over the world to come for spring tours, festivals, and sincerely burn incense to pray for health, peace, and happiness in the new year for each family and to find peace and relaxation in their souls. During the reign of King Le Loi, the two women were instrumental in helping people and troops transport food and boats through Thac Bo to Muong Le (Son La) to quell the rebellion. After their death, the two women often had epiphanies to help people safely cross the famous dangerous and harsh waterfall when the Da River had not yet stopped its flow. The people were grateful so they built a temple to worship the two women to show their respect and hope that they would bless and protect them from danger when passing through the water. Ba Chua Thac Bo Temple is located in two communes: Thung Nai commune, Cao Phong district and Vay Nua commune, Da Bac district, Hoa Binh province. The South borders Da River lake bed. The North borders part of the river lake bed and the entire commune's mountain range. The East side leans against the mountains. The South borders part of the Da River lake bed and mountains. During the dry season, visitors have to walk more than 108 stone steps to reach the foot of the temple. However, during high water season, visitors hardly have to walk much because the water rises up to the foot of the temple.
