Yen Tu Spring Heritage Festival 2026 has record scale Yen Tu Spring Festival 2026 opened on February 26, affirming its position as a world heritage site with the largest scale in history and many unique cultural activities. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province held a press conference to announce plans to deploy the Truc Lam Yen Tu Buddhist Exhibition and a special art program to promote the World Cultural Heritage. This is a landmark event, marking the first festival season since the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son and Kiep Bac relics and landscapes complex was officially honored by UNESCO on the human heritage map.​ According to information from the Organizing Committee, the 2026 Yen Tu Spring Festival will be held on February 26, the 10th day of the first lunar month in the year of the Horse, in the majestic space of Truc Lam Yen Tu Palace. With the stature of a world heritage, this year's festival has been comprehensively upgraded in both scale and cultural depth under the close coordination of the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Quang Ninh province.​ The most novel and different point of the 2026 Yen Tu Spring Festival season is the expansion of cultural space. Instead of focusing on Thuong Yen Cong commune like previous years, this year's festival will spread and have the direct participation of 3 wards including Vang Danh, Yen Tu and Uong Bi. This connection creates a closely linked community cultural space, bringing the spirit of Truc Lam Buddhism deeply into the lives of local people and tourists from everywhere.​ The highlight of the series of events is a special art night taking place on the opening evening of February 26. The program is expected to create a visual and emotional feast when recreating the thoughts of Buddhist Emperor Tran Nhan Tong through the most modern performance technologies available today. The entire program will be broadcast live, bringing the humanistic philosophies of the Truc Lam Zen sect closer to audiences nationwide. Along with that, visitors also have the opportunity to admire national treasures at the exhibition space of Tran Dynasty antiquities and precious Buddhist documents at Khai Tam Zen Mirror. Not only stopping at spiritual activities, the festival space is also filled with the breath of contemporary life through the OCOP and Cuisine Fair with more than 100 diverse stalls from handicraft products, bronze items to famous regional specialties. In particular, the experience area "Spring Heritage - Nuong Village Tet" promises to attract a large number of young people and international visitors through folk games, dragon and lion dance performances and unique traditional martial arts.​ In anticipation of a sudden increase in tourists, security and safety have been given special attention by Quang Ninh province. Smart surveillance AI camera systems are installed on all routes leading to the heritage site to regulate visitor flow and ensure order. With a base of nearly 600,000 visitors in 2025, Yen Tu Spring Festival 2026 sets the goal of not only attracting numbers but also creating a profound spread of cultural values. This is a strategic step to make Yen Tu a "red address" in educating traditions and national pride for the young generation, while affirming the appeal of a world heritage.
