This year, the traditional buffalo fighting festival to celebrate the 2015 At Mui spring with the participation of 32 carefully selected and cared for buffaloes brought good and fierce matches. Early on, a large number of people in Na Bo commune and neighboring communes inside and outside Mai Son district were present at the Na Bo commune stadium area to wait for the buffaloes to participate in the buffalo fighting festival here. The buffaloes that usually help people in the fields, fields, and agricultural production now participate in the festival, bringing a very special atmosphere, both rustic and jubilant. We hope the district will continue to organize the buffalo fighting festival at the beginning of the year so that people in many villages can know and participate like this." This year, the festival takes place for 2 days, the scale is expanded not only limited to Mai Son district. Buffalo owners in districts in the province such as Muong La, Phu Yen, and Yen Chau also brought their buffaloes to fight. 32 buffaloes are divided into 16 knockout pairs. Visitors coming to watch the festival are all excited, nervous, looking forward to each match. Mr. Nguyen Bach Vinh, a tourist from Son La city, Son La province, said: "Since the buffalo fighting festival here, I have come to watch it every year, because I really like the rustic and natural style of the mountains and forests. The people here are very enthusiastic. Even though the road is steep and dusty, there are a lot of motorbikes. In early spring, I feel very comfortable watching buffalo fighting." After the qualifying round, 16 buffaloes entered the final round and were divided into 8 pairs. The knockout round selected 4 pairs to enter the quarter-final round. The matches were fierce. The "buffalo men" usually still help people in the fields, are carefully selected and carefully cared for, and are nutritionally enhanced to have the best health to participate in fighting. The highland "buffalo men" unleashed many dangerous blows, held their horns, and competed to bring the audience dramatic and exciting competitions. At the end of the final match, the organizers awarded 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 2 3rd prizes and 1 best pair prize to the Buffalo owners whose Buffalo won the prize. The end of the buffalo fighting festival left many impressions and beautiful images in the hearts of the audience. This is a unique and interesting meeting place imbued with the highland cultural identity of the Mong people in Son La in early spring.
