Ceremony of Mrs. Linh Son Thanh Mau (Tay Ninh)

The Ceremony of Mrs. Linh Son Thanh Mau takes 3 days from 4 to 6/5 (lunar calendar) every year, at Linh Son Tien Thach Tu (Ba Den Mountain), Tay Ninh City, Tay Ninh Province. Along with the Spring Spring Festival, this is a festival that attracts a large number of visitors to the Buddha's direction.

The festival is held at Ba pagoda, also known as Linh Son Tien Thach, which is located in the middle of the mountain, at an altitude of 350m, including the oldest temples in Tay Ninh such as Ba Pagoda, Hang Pagoda, Dong Hoang Chung, Trung Pagoda, New Pagoda ... dating to nearly 300 years.

This is a spiritual building associated with the religious life of the local people, attracting millions of tourists from all over the world to worship and pray for every year. Buddhists everywhere also come here to worship the Buddha, also known as the "Buddha to enter Nirvana" on the mountain of Ba, a Buddhist project not to be missed during the pilgrimage to the land of spiritual land.

The festival of her started with the Moc Duc Ceremony (Bathing) was conducted at 0:00 on the 4th day at Ba Palace. The ritual took place in a solemn atmosphere, the electric door was closed to prevent the outside, the candle lights also turned off almost, only six women, including three nuns of the temple allowed to stay in the electricity, celebrate the ritual.

First, everyone came to the statue of her burning incense, asking for permission to bathe and replace her shirt. After half a week of incense, under the direction of an elderly woman in the group, the group began to take off her jacket.

They pass each other with fragrant water cooked from lotus, jasmine, porcelain flowers, cinnamon, aromatic oil ... to bounce and bathe her statues. After the bathing process ends, the clean towels are fragrant to be transferred to dry the statue. The statue of her was put on a new outfit.

When the ritual of bathing and changing clothes for her statue had just ended, the group burned incense to prostrate her. At this time, the lamp in the electricity was also lit and the electric doors opened for pilgrims to worship.

During the 4th day of the lunar calendar at the Electricity, the folk festival rituals include the puppet singing, singing the shadow of the comedy "Land", dancing cotton, offering five -colored tray, dancing toys (dancing, dancing hyacinth, dancing lily ...) ...) ...

The 5th day of the lunar calendar is her official holiday is also the Ba Mountain Festival. The most important ritual is the "worshiping process" means offering her 10 dishes including incense, lamps, fruits, tea cake, wine ... On this day the monks took turns reciting the sutras continuously in front of her altar.

The 6th day of the lunar calendar is for worshiping the souls, the death and the diagnosis of the Tanh. On this day, the attendees will read the superficial penance for the unjust souls. In the afternoon, after the worshiping ceremony, the ceremony was a ceremony. At night, the monks continue to be supercharged for Ba Tanh.

However, when compared to the worshiping ceremony of Buddha in the North, the ceremony is richer and more fun, because there is a modern orchestra, acting as a lightweight band for monks to worship Buddha.

This is the main festival that attracts a large number of visitors to the pilgrimage at Ba Den Mountain. On August 14, 2019, the "Ceremony of Mrs. Linh Son Thanh Mau - Ba Den Mountain" was honored to receive the decision of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Accordingly, the ceremony of Ba Linh Son Thanh Mau - Ba Den Mountain officially became a national intangible cultural heritage.  It is the recognition for the unique values ​​that this festival brings.

The rituals in the heritage of the ceremony not only attracted people in the religious ceremony with a solemn Buddhist ceremony, but also attracted the people who often curious with this festival because of the joyful, bustling nuance and showing the heterogeneous dream of the masses of a prosperous and happy life.
