Ba Trieu Temple Festival, discover colorful cultural heritage Ba Trieu Temple Festival is held annually on February 19-23 of the lunar calendar, in Trieu Loc commune, Hau Loc district, Thanh Hoa province. Traditional folk festival at Ba Trieu temple (Trieu Loc commune, Hau Loc district, Thanh Hoa province), the festival is held to commemorate the hero Trieu Thi Trinh - who led the people to stand up against the domination of the Ngo Dynasty in 248. Although Ba Trieu's uprising to expel the Ngo invaders failed, it created a pinnacle in the history of our people's indomitable heroic fight against foreign invaders, and is a shining symbol of our nation's patriotism, courageous will, and tenacious spirit. To commemorate the merits of Ba Trieu, people built a temple at the foot of Gai mountain (Ba Trieu temple) and built a mausoleum on top of Tung mountain to worship her. The people of Phu Dien village (Trieu Loc commune, Hau Loc district) honor Ba Trieu as the village God, worshiping at Phu Dien village communal house. Every year, the festival is held on a large scale in a large space according to the process of temples, mausoleums and communal houses. At these relic sites, sacrifices take place with a solemn ritual that is both traditional and combined with contemporary festivals. Particularly in Phu Dien village communal house, there is a ceremony of Ngo and Trieu "hand over troops" festival. Staying at Ba Trieu temple is mainly for rituals, such as carrying palanquins and worshiping female mandarins. In the festival, there are no folk performances but only the Battle Festival, arousing and recalling her heroic spirit against the Ngo army... Next are the grand ceremonies, palanquin processions... and adoration singing, which is a traditional form of music on a very sacred holiday. In addition to the above rituals, there is also the Moc Duc ceremony. This is a ritual that local people pay close attention to and are careful with. They choose a good day to perform the ceremony, usually the 18th and 19th day of the second lunar month at both the temple and the village communal house, and are responsible for one elder and three assistants. Next is the worship of Phung Nghinh. The Phung Nghinh ceremony is the procedure to invite King Ba, along with the court's six ministries, the council of mandarins, and the saints and ancestors of hundreds of families to return on the day of honoring King Ba, a very solemn and very sacred day, the worship time is half a day. The ball procession during the festival is an extremely important ritual, people place the King Ba incense bowl on the palanquin along with a box of personal belongings and a plate of betel and areca nuts. There were eight selected boys who were virtuous, clean, and had no mourning or bad deeds in their families. The strutting boys (including 8 blows) wear red short-sleeved shirts, red belts, red scarves, white pants and bare feet. The celebrant walks under the palanquin. Next is the song loan palanquin, on the palanquin there are adoration robes and ordination boxes, carried by eight people. The first ritual has an incense burner with two people carrying parasols to cover the incense burner. On the palanquin are incense bowls, betel nuts and fruits. After the incense altar, there will be a bowl-sound ward performing water-flowing music, with drums, gongs and 32 people performing the tasks of carrying swords, carrying precious bowls, and carrying bronze sticks. Just like that, the groups carry festival flags, carry palanquins, and the people accompanying the procession must dress neatly in turbans, white pants and shirts. The procession goes from the main temple to the Mausoleum and then back to the village communal house. Arriving at the mausoleum, the palanquin is placed on a stand and the ritual procedure is performed to pray to the Lady. On the occasion of the festival, with the respectful hearts of children and grandchildren from all over, remember her gratitude. The group returns to the village communal house, the palanquin, the incense bowl of the Ba's shadow is placed in the middle of the communal house and continues to offer 1 day and 1 night ceremonies including the offerings of peace and the three births. Then the sacrificial procession follows the route to Dinh Chinh to worship Ba King on 2 days 22 and 23 of the 2nd lunar month.
