Nghinh Ong Vam Lang festival  For fishermen and fish (whales) is the god of respect for their life. In order to show gratitude to the fish, the fishermen every year organize a festival, which is Nghinh Ong festival. Nghinh Ong Festival in Vam Lang has many similarities with Nghinh Ong festivals in the waters throughout the country, but there are also differences, imbued with the culture and beliefs of the residents of Go Cong. This festival has many different names such as the procession of his core, praying for fishing, fishing ceremony, Nghinh Ong ceremony, Nghinh Ong Thuy General, ... Particularly for Vam Lang's ceremony, there are also more ceremonies such as the ceremony such as the ceremony and traditional sacrifices on the basis of two related legends. Regarding the ceremony, it is said that when King Gia Long (now Nguyen Anh) bolted to avoid Tay Son army at the mouth of Soai Rap River, he met a big storm so his boat was at risk of being immersed. While not knowing how to manage, he prayed to heaven and earth, the gods helped. It was sacred, right after the prayer, a large whale appeared and his boat was protected by whales and guided into the coast of Vam Lang waters in Kieng Phuoc commune, Go Cong province (Tien Giang today). After ascending the throne (1802), he wanted to express his gratitude and promote the fish of the "Nam Hai General", then ordered the places where the coastal areas worshiped his fish. With this meaning, in 1852, Dinh Kieng Phuoc was ordained the spirit of Nam Hai Nhi General. Regarding the traditional sacrifice ceremony, it is said that: The time when Mr. Huynh Van Binh was an incense (the nineteenth century), there was a fish that was hit by the village of Dong Hoa (Gia Dinh) on the other side of Soai Rap River. The villagers brought back to bury them, then brought into the family to worship. Some time later, the fishermen of Phuoc Hai commune (Ba Ria) came to Vam Lang to ask him to return to Phuoc Hai and told him that he dreamed about the villagers because he committed a crime with Thien Dinh, so when he died drifting in three places: the head in Phuoc Hai, the body in Vam Lang and the tail in Vung Tau. If he brought his whole body to Phuoc Hai, the villagers would eat. The fishermen Vam Lang disagree because if he invited him to go, the people of Vam Lang would be lost. On this occasion, fishermen contributed their resources and material resources to build Mr. Nam Hai Mausoleum and invited Mr. from Kieng Phuoc to worship. According to the annual custom, each time to celebrate the worshiping ceremony, the Council of Khanh Tiet Mr. Nam Hai and the people of Vam Lang entered the communal house. The Spirit of the 5th year of King Tu Duc (1852) was promoted to the "scene of Phuoc Thon" so the spirit was kept at the Dinh Phuoc communal house. Every year, the Nghinh Ong Vam Lang festival is held for two days (9th and 10th of the 3rd lunar month). On the 9th of the 3rd lunar month, from 7 am to 18 pm, the activities took place in order: At Dinh Than (Kieng Phuoc commune), the Organizing Committee conducted a ceremony to take the ceremony then returned to Ong Nam Hai Mausoleum (located in Lang 1 Quarter, Vam Lang Town) to carry out the worshiping ceremony of the Master, Ceremony of Old Cake, Ceremony of Vong Vong, Ceremony of Vong Lac Thuy, Ceremony of the Early Early Ceremony of the Earlys Items such as roasted pigs, sticky rice, cakes, fruits, ... carrying each group of people in the end of the sea to the sea to worship him. After the sacrifice ceremony in the sea ended, the boat came back and conducted some rituals at Mausoleum. At the festival, along with the activities of the ceremony, the festival was also held in parallel for two very exciting days. In the festival, folk games such as: tug of war, boat racing, football, climbing fat column, catching ducks, pushing sticks, .... Taking place exciting, with the enthusiastic response of the people and tourists. Nghinh Ong Vam Lang Festival has contributed to meeting the needs of enjoying the culture of residents of Go Cong and Tien Giang waters; At the same time, contributing to the preservation of monuments, raising the awareness of preserving and promoting the value of the festival, the local intangible cultural values.       On February 15, 2000, Tien Giang People's Committee decided to rank Ong Nam Hai Mausoleum as a historical and cultural relic at the provincial level.
