Phu Dien Cham Tower (also known as My Khanh Tower) is one of the most special ancient Cham relics in Vietnam because it was buried under a layer of sand for more than a thousand years. The structure was discovered in 2001 in Hue city during mineral exploitation. This event made a big splash in the archaeological world because this is a rare Cham tower that remains almost intact after a long time lying under the sand.
The tower is built in the typical dwarf tower style of Champa architecture with a rectangular floor plan, the main door facing east and the walls are decorated in a balanced, harmonious manner. In the middle of the Ea Sup mountains and forests, Yang Prong Cham Tower is one of the special ancient Cham relics in Vietnam because this is the only Cham tower that still exists in the Central Highlands region. The project was built around the end of the 13th century to worship the supreme god Yang Prong according to Cham beliefs. Hidden under the canopy of ancient trees beside the Ea H'leo river, the tower creates a scene that is both sacred and mysterious.
The tower is about 9m high, has a square plan with a main door facing East and three fake doors in the remaining directions. The entire building is built of red bricks combined with decorative stone slabs, featuring intricately carved patterns and the top of the tower shaped like a unique onion bud. Although covered in moss over time, this ancient Cham architectural relic is still a valuable testament to the spread of Champa culture to the Central Highlands.
