From a young age, Nguyen Tuan Thien nurtured the will to destroy enemies and save the country. He gathered like-minded people to form the Coc Son insurgent army to rebel against the domination of the Ming Dynasty. In February 1425, Nguyen Tuan Thien brought the Coc Son insurgent army to pay homage to Binh Dinh King Le Loi, asking to cooperate in fighting. Le Loi and Nguyen Tuan Thien became brothers.
