Co Loa Communal House

Hanoi 955 view

Built on the foundation of the old royal court, this is a communal house that was moved from another place and rebuilt at the end of the 18th century right on the land where it is said that King Thuc Phan held court in the past. In the middle of the communal house there is a hammock door carved with images of four sacred animals (dragon, lychee, tortoise, phoenix) and four precious animals (peach, chrysanthemum, bamboo, apricot). The carving is extremely delicate and gilded. The communal house has a sturdy, majestic architecture and also displays many archaeological relics dating back thousands of years, of great historical value.
