The soldiers of Regiment 112 cut through the forest and crossed back to Yen Nguyen to coordinate with local militia and guerrillas to set up an ambush from the foot of Ga Pass to Ca bridge. Artillery was urgently dispatched from Yen Binh to ambush enemy ships at Hon Lau. At 2:00 p.m. on November 10, 1947, the enemy's train consisting of 2 L C T and 1 canoe carrying 200 European and African soldiers from Chiem Hoa headed to Hon Lau. The Khe Lau victory is considered one of the 10 major battles in the Viet Bac Autumn-Winter campaign in 1947.
