Bao Ha Temple Festival Bao Ha Temple Festival is held every year on July 17 of the lunar calendar to commemorate the merits of the famous general Hoang Bay, who has the merit of defending the border of the country in the Le Dynasty. This is one of the major festivals in Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province, attracting a large number of people and tourists from all over the world to offer incense.  The main features of Bao Ha temple festival:  Time: Take place on July 17 of the lunar calendar every year. Purpose: Remembering the name of General Hoang Bay and praying for peace and happiness for all peoples, as well as prosperity for the country. Location: Bao Ha Temple, Bao Ha Commune, Bao Yen District, Lao Cai Province. Rituals: The festival usually includes the procession, reading and offering incense at the temple. Sometimes there are other rituals such as the procession from Ms. Tan An temple to Mr. Hoang Bay temple. Cultural significance: The festival is not only a religious activity but also contributes to the introduction of local cultural beauty and tourism promotion of Lao Cai province. Characteristics: Bao Ha Temple is also known for the phenomenon of "asking for gambling" and has had time related to drug evils, although the Management Board has taken measures to prevent.  Bao Ha Temple was recognized as a national cultural and historical monument in 1997.
